Our 1st Married Christmas

15 days until Christmas?! Eeeek! It is my favorite time of year. I am so thankful for our Jesus being born. LOVE CAME DOWN AT CHRISTMAS! The reason for the season brings me so much joy, but so does Christmas decor.

It is our first Christmas in our new home and as a married couple! Hooray! I am bringing in all of the natural fibers, fur, and black buffalo check this year. My inspo for the buffalo check came from Just Destiny blog.. Her decor is always so amazing! I gave it my best shot and it is still a work in progress. I can’t wait to perfect it all next year.

We pretty much started from scratch, so I wanted to share how to save while decorating. I am thankful for a husband who didn’t freak when I brought it all home! Ha ha I am not someone who does very well with “wait until after Christmas and it will all be on sale”… while this is true I don’t want to wait until next year to decorate! Sorry not sorry. So saving is a must around here!

The tree:

We have such tall ceilings anything shorter than a 9.5′ tree would have not worked.  We searched the local sales and used gift cards we had left over from the wedding. I wanted a flocked tree, but it drives up the price and who knows when that trend may die. Instead, I have slowly found flocked stem pieces to add in to my tree. You can find these at Michaels or any craft store.

I bought most of my ornaments at Hobby Lobby. Christmas decor is always half off! #winning Others were gifts from my mom and the buffalo check ones all came from Kirklands 40% off.

My biggest DIY? The “feather garland”. They are Bona disposable duster pads… however they are not the exact ones I have seen used on trees but they work! $10 for a ten pack. I ended up using two packs!

The table:

I am still not done with my centerpiece (obvs), but I just couldn’t wait to share our decor any longer. The napkins I found on Amazon here. They are so perfect to match our tree. The greenery is all fresh from Sam’s. $13 for 25 feet. Can’t beat it. We also added it around our brick archway and it is so pretty!

The plates are a combo of Tuesday Morning, Michaels, and Belk. I am loving the gold deer salad plates and can’t wait to incorporate them into my centerpiece!

The fur stockings are from Big Lots and Pier One! $10 a piece. Tree skirt is Ugg from Bed Bath and Beyond. You can find it here

What are your favorite places to find bargains at for Christmas decor? I would love to know since we are still in the process of decorating!
