Peaceful in Plaid

Happy Sunday! I feel like the worst friend to you all, because I’ve been MIA. Sorry, y’all. The holidays are such a crazy time. *Sigh* We all rush around trying to get things done, while still trying to fulfill our daily duties. It’s a lot to handle. A million things to check off our lists. I love shopping and finding gifts for friends and family. It makes me so giddy to find the perfect gift. I get so consumed in this I sometimes forget the real meaning of Christmas and the holiday season.

Sometime’s we need to stop and just be still. At church Wednesday, I was reminded of this. It’s so great to shower the one’s you love this holiday season, but don’t forget the greatest gift we were given. God sent his one and only son to save us. Woah. I still get chills thinking of this greatness. Jesus lived and died for you and me. We are saved by His great grace and He is our Prince of Peace.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6, NIV)

Take time to sit and be still and rest in His peace and goodness during all of this holiday madness. Look around and embrace the beauty of Christmas.  Don’t be afraid to set budgets and give to those in need. Pray and ask Jesus to show you where to focus your time this season. Don’t take on more than you can handle. It’s OK to say NO.

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as member of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” (Colossians 3:15, NIV)

“Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7 NLT)

I pray you all have a peaceful holiday season! Do you have any go-to’s to unwind during Christmas?
